HALLOWEEN 2010: MYTHICAL WORLDS WITH MYTHICAL CREATURES

Hello.

I wanted to touch base and talk a little Halloween. It is getting close and people are wondering? What tricks and treats do TYLER-KING-CALIFORNIA have up their sleeves? I

"MYTHICAL WORLD WITH MYTHICAL CREATURES" (kid friendly concept by Alexandra Mitnick).
  • Cool maze installation @ 1617 Tyler (if you want to help - let me know!).
  • Potluck in front of 1617 & 1624 Tyler Street (if it rains - we will need a volunteer to host?).
  • Prizes for the 3 most mythical children costumes (runner up prizes for everyone). MICHAELS has inexpensive party favors - can someone be responsible for getting a bag of runner up prizes and 3 prizes for the winners.
  • Prizes for the 3 most mythical adult costumes (if you have some cool junk that is lying around your house that would make a good novelty gift - let me know). Like a while elephant exchange?
  • Prizes for the most mythical installation on the street (1617 TYLER is not part of the contest). PRIZE - mystery gift certificate from last year's scavenger hunt???
  • Prizes for most mythical dish at the potluck.  Prize - TBD!
SUNDAY 10/31 2PM - 8PM (Is this a good time?) - Halloween 2010: A Journey Into The Mythical Realms Of Tyler-King-California
  • The Mythical Labyrinth - a mythical world of mythical creatures (fairies, night walkers, gods, goddesses, ghosts, unicorns, dragons, vampires, zombies, etc) at 1617 TYLER ST.
    • Material needs:
      • Lots and lots and lots of boxes (wine or produce boxes are great, and anything larger). We need about 200+. If you see some and can pick them up - please do. Drop them by 1617 Tyler at the side of the house and I will cover them with a tarp.
      • Long tables
      • Old fabric (dark preferred)
      • Extra PVC pipes
  • Pot luck (outdoors)- who wants to coordinate this? We will have a edible journey through a maze of MYTHICAL FOODS (bring what you want and tell everybody what makes it mythical). Let's have some fun with this.
  • Neighborhood trick or treating
More ideas? Let's start talking. Please forward to other people who are interested in planning and participation.

Ben

PS - Here is a list of things to do - please let me know if you have anything to add:
  • Permit for block party?
  • Supplies for the labyrinth - lots of boxes!
  • Need tables and chairs for pot-luck (we have chairs but will need tables). Bill/Jessica - we still have yours!
  • Who wants to coordinate the pot-luck?
  • Patrick D. - can you check on the JUMPY castle?
  • Novelty gifts for adult costume contest.
  • 3 prizes for kids costume contest.
  • Runner up prizes for all kids.
  • Gift cards from neighborhood businesses?
